Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data The Next Turn collects when you buy from or browse this store, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

In the language of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the Data Fiduciary and you are the Data Principal.

Email is our only support channel, and it is a real inbox that a person reads.

What we collect

  • Contact and order details — your name, email address and billing details, so we can process the order, issue a tax invoice and deliver the file.
  • Payment information — handled entirely by our payment gateway. We never see, receive or store your full card number, UPI PIN, CVV or bank credentials.
  • Account information — if you create an account to re-download your copy, your login details and download history.
  • Support correspondence — anything you write to us by email, kept so we can answer you and refer back if you write again.
  • Device and usage data — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and referring site, collected by Shopify's built-in analytics and cookies.

We do not ask for, and have no use for, your postal address, your telephone number, your employment history, your salary or your CV.

Where it comes from

  • Directly from you — when you buy, create an account, or write to us.
  • Automatically — from your device as you use the store, through cookies and similar technologies.
  • From our service providers — the payment gateway and the store platform, acting on our behalf.

Why we use it

  • To deliver the product you paid for, and to let you re-download it from your account.
  • To answer your support emails.
  • To keep the accounting and GST records Indian tax law requires of us.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, and to enforce the product licence.
  • To understand, in aggregate, how the store is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to data brokers. We do not use it to build advertising profiles of you with third parties.

Who processes it on our behalf

  • Shopify — hosts this store and processes orders and checkout. Shopify also processes some data as its own controller; see the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy.
  • Our payment gateway — Razorpay and the networks behind it (UPI, RuPay, Visa, Mastercard, net banking) process the payment itself.
  • Our email and file-delivery provider — sends your order confirmation and download link.

Each processes your data only to provide its service to us. Some operate servers outside India; where that happens the transfer is governed by their own terms and by applicable law.

Cookies

This store uses cookies that are necessary for it to function — keeping your cart, keeping you signed in through checkout, and basic security. It also uses Shopify's analytics cookies to count visits and understand which pages are read. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; the store will still display, but checkout may not work.

How long we keep it

Order and invoice records are kept for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires. Account records are kept while your account is open, so you can re-download your copy. Support emails are kept while they are useful and then deleted. Analytics data follows Shopify's own retention schedule.

Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may ask us to:

  • tell you what personal data of yours we hold and how it has been processed;
  • correct anything inaccurate, or complete anything incomplete;
  • erase your personal data, where we are not required by law to retain it;
  • nominate someone to exercise these rights if you are unable to; and
  • raise a grievance with us, which we will answer.

Write to support@thenextturn.com and we will respond within a reasonable period. Note that erasing your order record does not withdraw the licence you bought, and we may need to keep invoice data for statutory reasons even after other data is deleted.

Security

The store runs over HTTPS and payment data is handled by a PCI-DSS compliant gateway rather than by us. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach affects your data we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.

Children

This product is written for adults and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

International transfers

Your personal data may be stored or processed outside India by the service providers named above. Where that happens, it is done under their contractual and legal safeguards.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update this page and change the date below. Continuing to use the store after that means you accept the updated policy.
